Rich Dixon, VP of Professional Learning Services with PD Learning Network and has an M.A., TESL, with more than 20 years’ experience as a teacher, administrator, staff developer, IT director, and curriculum coordinator. In his current position he has the opportunity to develop online and live PD for schools and districts across the country. He is currently working on a project to bring competency based PD to schools through digital badging and micro-credentialing. His most recent presentations include: "Gamify Your PD With Digital Badges and Micro-Credentials" (ISTE 2016), "Digital Badges and Micro-Credentials for PD" (TIE 2016), "Badging Your PD" (National Digital Badge Summer Institute 2016), & The Future of Digital Badges for Professionals at the Badge Summit (2016). He will be presenting "Digital Badges: What You Need to Know & No One is Telling You" at Fall CUE 2016. He strives to improve the effectiveness of instruction through intentional application of educational technology that honors individual learning pathways.
Rich is also concurrently serving as a edtech Lecturer within the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education at UC Santa Barbara.
